No 150 The Statutory Maternity Pay (Curtailment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015
These Regulations, from the operational date of 15/3/15, allow eligible women to curtail their statutory maternity pay in accordance with section 161(3A) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992 in order to enable them to take statutory shared parental pay in accordance with section 167ZU of the 1992 Act.

These Regulations come into operation on 15/3/15 and they apply to and modify existing powers in the 1996 Employment Rights (NI) Order to allow the making of regulations to give an employee who meets the eligibility criteria entitlement to statutory adoption leave, paternity leave and shared parental leave if that employee has a child born with the help of a surrogate and the employee is a parental order parent.

These Regulations amend the Maternity and Parental Leave etc. Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999. The purpose of doing so is to remove the limitation on parental leave so that it may be taken at any time before a child’s eighteenth birthday.

This Order comes into effect on 1/10/09 and has the main purpose of increasing the maximum weekly amount used for the purposes of calculating certain awards by the Industrial Tribunal from £350 to £380. These Regulations revoke and replace the existing regulations on rules of procedure for Industrial Tribunals and include: rules applicable to all proceedings before an Industrial Tribunal, rules regarding ‘equal value’ claims, levy appeal rules, rules on appeals against improvement/prohibition notices, rules on appeals against non-discrimination notices, rules regarding £150 deposit in pre-hearing reviews, reporting restriction rules, orders for costs (specified instances) and so on.
