A spokesperson for the Labour Relations Agency said: “When it comes to redundancy there are certain rights and responsibilities involved, such as the need to establish appropriate criteria, undertake a fair consultation and procedure. Redundancy payments also need to be considered.
The Labour Relations Agency is impartial and can provide guidance and resources to both the employer and any employees based in Northern Ireland, to ensure that both understand their redundancy rights and responsibilities. It is important to note that some of the entitlements and requirements set out in legislation in Northern Ireland differ from those in Great Britain.
