Annual Review of Employment Law


This seminar looks back over 2018 to examine the essential legislative changes that have happened over the year in the area of employment law.  In addition, there will be a focus on potential pending areas of reform in employment law and any key case decisions worthy of note during the last twelve months.  This seminar will be of interest to anyone dealing with contemporary issues of employment law such as trade union representatives and HR professionals.

Learning objectives

At the end of this seminar participants will be able to:

  • describe the main legislative developments in employment law in the last 12 months
  • recognise and make provision for the ramifications of the main case law developments in employment law in the last 12 months
  • make provision for the impact of the developments on people, policies and procedures in their own workplaces

Workplace Information Service

The Agency’s Workplace Information Service is available to employers, employees, trade unions and others. Workplace Information Service advisors provide information and advice on a wide range of employment matters. The Workplace Information Service is also an important contact point for identifying circumstances, or clients, who would benefit from being referred to other Agency services.

The Workplace Information Service provides clear, confidential, independent and impartial advice to assist the caller in resolving issues in the workplace.

While the advisors cannot provide a legal opinion they can help callers gain a better understanding of their rights and responsibilities as well as identifying possible options to help resolve their issues.
