No 162 The Fair Employment Tribunal (Rules of Procedure) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2011
These Regulations amend the Fair Employment Tribunal (Rules of Procedure) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005 (S.R. 2005 No. 151) (“the 2005 Regulations”), the most substantive amendments to which have previously been made by S.R. 2005 No. 579.
Redundancy pay
The statutory redundancy payment scheme aims to ensure that people who are dismissed through no fault of their own receive compensation. Employees who meet certain requirements are statutorily entitled to a lump sum from their employer.
Warnings and other disciplinary action
Warnings in the workplace should be part of a disciplinary process and they should be designed to allow employees to change a particular behaviour within a given timeframe. They should be given as quickly as possible after the behaviour occurs. Any sanctions should be proportionate to the alleged offence.
598 Unfair Arbitration Agreements (Specified Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996
This Order specified the amount of £3,000 for the purposes of S.91 of the Arbitration Act 1996 and this provides for the application of unfair contract terms legislation to be applicable in relation to sums exceeding this amount.

The Order amends the 1989 Order of the same name which specifies a number of persons or bodies as public authorities for certain purposes under the Fair Employment (Northern Ireland) Act 1989 and provides for persons who are to be treated for such purposes as employees of some of these authorities. No. 68 The Local Government Reorganisation (Compensation for Loss of Employment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015
These Regulations come into operation on 1/4/15 and the purpose of the Regulations is to provide new councils with the mechanism in which to compensate those persons who suffer loss of employment due to local government reorganisation.

Parents of children under the age of seventeen (or disabled children under the age of eighteen) and carers of adults have the right to apply to their employer to work more flexibly.
