4 Race Relations (Prescribed Public Bodies) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1998
These Regulations prescribe certain public bodies under and for the purposes of Article 71 (5) of the Race Relations (Northern Ireland) Order 1997 relating to employment rules relevant to service of the Crown or certain public bodies.
Early Conciliation
The Labour Relations Agency provides an Early Conciliation service following a change in NI employment law which took effect on 27 January 2020. This service helps to resolve workplace disputes in a legally binding way, without the need to take a case to the Industrial or Fair Employment Tribunal. 465 Equal Pay (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996
These Regulations provide for an Industrial Tribunal to have greater procedural discretion in equal value pay claims in relation to the use (or not) of independent experts.
Working Time Regulations
In addition to the rights outlined around qualifying periods, a number of other rights and responsibilities exist. These relate to rest breaks, the number of hours a worker can be required to work and paid leave.
Statutory Adoption Pay
One of the qualifying conditions for receipt of SAP is to have average weekly earnings (before tax) of £123 or more (April 2024).
Mediation
An independent mediator can sometimes help resolve grievance or disciplinary issues. There is no charge for using the Labour Relations Agency's mediation service.
