Annual holidays
Most workers - whether part-time or full-time - are legally entitled to 5.6 weeks' paid annual leave. Employers can set the times of the year that leave needs to be taken and workers must give the employer notice when they want to take leave.

Employers, employees and their representatives may find it helpful to refer to the Labour Relations Agency's codes of practice, sample letters, flowcharts and guides. Shared Parental Leave and Pay: Employers' Technical Guide to Shared Parental Leave and Pay
This guide was published by the Department for the Economy.
Eligible employees of babies due to be born or placed for adoption from April 2015 will have a new statutory entitlement to shared parental leave and pay. This technical guidance is for employers who think their employee(s) may be eligible.
