On Thursday 23 February 2023, we hosted our “10X Reasons and More for Good Employment Relations in NI” conference at Titanic Belfast.
This major stakeholder conference brought together employers, HR professionals, trade unionists and others to explore how we create a framework of best practice that will help turn the vision for a 10X economy into a reality through good employment relations.

No 95 The Maternity and Adoption Leave (Curtailment of Statutory Rights to Leave) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015
These Regulations come into operation on 15/3/15 and enable an expectant mother or a mother on maternity leave, or an adopter or a prospective adopter to give notice to end her/his relevant entitlement on a specific future date.
Agency structure
The vision and objectives of the Labour Relations Agency are determined by a Board consisting of a Chair and nine members who are appointed by the Department for the Economy (DfE). Staff are direct employees of the Agency. They receive continuous training and development on changes in employment legislation and employment relations practice and procedures.
173 Industrial Tribunals (Constitution and Rules of Procedure) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996
These Regulations revoke and replace the existing regulations on rules of procedure for Industrial Tribunals and include: rules applicable to all proceedings before an Industrial Tribunal, rules regarding ‘equal value’ claims, levy appeal rules, rules on appeals against improvement/prohibition notices, rules on appeals against non-discrimination notices, rules regarding £150 deposit in pre-hearing reviews, reporting restriction rules, orders for costs (specified instances) and so on.
242 Suspension from Work on Maternity Grounds (Merchant Shipping and Fishery Vessels) Order (Northern Ireland) 1998
These Regulations require that in certain circumstances new or expectant mothers shall be suspended from work for health and safety reasons.
327 The Disability Discrimination Code of Practice (Goods, Facilities, Services and Premises) Order (Northern Ireland) 1999
This Order stipulates 1/10/99 as the date on which the Code of Practice on the Right of Access to Goods, Facilities, Services and Premises comes into effect.
No 25 The Parental Leave (EU Directive) (Maternity and Parental Leave) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2013
These Regulations implement Council Directive 2010/18/EU on the revised framework agreement on parental leave. They amend provisions relating to parental leave in the Maternity and Parental Leave.
No 169 The Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 2015
This Order comes into operation on 22/3/15 and essentially it revises the limits on awards and payments under certain employment rights legislation in line with the rate of inflation.
No 465 The National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Regulations 2017
These Regulations amend the National Minimum Wage Regulations 2015 and come into force on 1st April 2017. The new April date replaces the old October 1 date from now on.
No 26 The Parental Leave (EU Directive) (Flexible Working) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2013
These Regulations implement Council Directive 2010/18/EU on the revised framework agreement on parental leave. They amend provisions relating to parental leave in the Employment Rights (Northern Ireland) Order 1996.
