Early Conciliation
The Labour Relations Agency provides an Early Conciliation service following a change in NI employment law which took effect on 27 January 2020. This service helps to resolve workplace disputes in a legally binding way, without the need to take a case to the Industrial or Fair Employment Tribunal. 320 Race Relations (Interest on Awards) Order (Northern Ireland) 1997
This Order makes provision in relation to interest on awards and compensation orders in the context of race relations and it addresses issues such as day to day accrual, calculation, rule departure, written details and so on.
Antenatal Care
All pregnant employees are entitled to time off to keep appointments for antenatal care made on the advice of a registered medical practitioner, registered midwife or registered health visitor.
A person in a qualifying relationship with the pregnant employee is entitled to unpaid time off work to accompany the expectant mother to two antenatal appointments.
Conciliation services
We offer free conciliation services to help parties involved in a workplace dispute to come to a legally binding resolution, without needing to go through a public tribunal. We offer both individual conciliation and collective conciliation, for example where an issue affects a number of employees.
Collective bargaining
This is one method that employers use to work with trade unions or works councils to negotiate matters such as terms and conditions of employment for certain groups or all their employees.
The Statutory Sick Pay (General) (Coronavirus Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020
The Statutory Sick Pay (General) (Coronavirus Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020 amend regulation 2(1) to provide that a person who is isolating himself from others in accordance with advice on coronavirus disease effective on 12th March 2020 is deemed to be incapable of work. These Regulations amend that date to 16th March 2020.

219 (9) The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (Commencement No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996
This Order stipulates 30th May 1996 as the day in which various components of the 1995 Act come into operation including issues such as: definition of disability, past disabilities, guidance, definitions of lease/sub-lease/sub-tenancy, advice and assistance, statutory authority, national security, restrictions on publicity in Industrial Tribunals, interpretation, supplementary provisions and so on.
