Posted worker
Posted workers are sent by their employer to temporarily work abroad in another European Union member state.
The Equal Opportunities (Employment Legislation) (Territorial Limits) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000 implemented a relevant European directive that provides for equality of treatment around employment terms and conditions of posted workers.
This directive ensures that posted workers receive no less favourable treatment than comparable workers in the host member state.
