Resolving Workplace Disputes

Description

Workplace disputes can arise in various forms from two colleagues who are no longer on speaking terms to a trade union and an employer not being able to reach agreement over the annual pay increase. Whatever form a dispute takes, conflict in the workplace can be disruptive and if ignored can escalate and become much more difficult to deal with.

This seminar draws on our 35 years of experience in helping parties resolve workplace disputes and will explore the various forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes available for dealing effectively with conflict.

Learning objectives

At the end of this seminar participants will be able to:

  • understand the various ADR services and their benefits
  • decide when it is appropriate to use such ADR processes and which particular process to use such as individual conciliation or statutory arbitration, collective conciliation, mediation or arbitration.
