No 269 The Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2016

It is essentially a piece of housekeeping legislation and has no major impact on existing Fair Employment legislation. The Schedule to the 2004 Order lists in Part I the bodies who are public authorities for the purposes of Articles 52 to 65 of the 1998 Order and in Part II the bodies who are public authorities for the purposes of Articles 62 to 65 of the 1998 Order. Article 2 of this Order substitutes a new Schedule to the 2004 Order.

The following bodies have been added to Part I of the Schedule:

• The Education Authority;

• Northern Ireland Museums Council;

• Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman.

The following bodies have been deleted from Part I of the Schedule:

• Assembly Ombudsman for Northern Ireland;

• Belfast Education and Library Board;

• Ilex Urban Regeneration Company Limited;

• North Eastern Education and Library Board;

• Northern Ireland Commissioner for Complaints;

• Northern Ireland Legal Services Commission;

• Staff Commission for the Education and Library Board;

• South Eastern Education and Library Board;

• Southern Education and Library Board;

• Western Education and Library Board.

Article 3 revokes the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2015.
