The number of Government departments has been reduced from 12 to nine from 09 May 2016.
A commitment under the Fresh Start agreement, this is the biggest reorganisation of central government in Northern Ireland in the last 16 years.
The nine new departments are:
- The Executive Office
- Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs
An overview of the changes, including the functions of the nine new departments, is available at nidirect.
The Labour Relations Agency now comes under the Department for the Economy (DfE)
