Public Meeting, 26th November 2015: Marie Malon and Kieran Mulvey

The Labour Relations Agency held its Annual Meeting at the Spires Centre on Thursday 26th November 2015.

Speaking at the meeting were Marie Malon, Chair of the LRA and guest speaker Kieran Mulvey of the Labour Relations Commission and the Workplace Relations Commissions.

Marie introduced the meeting with her formal address which was followed by Kireran's lecture entitled “Dispute Resolution: Current Developments in Ireland and the E.U.”

Kieran Mulvey served as Chief Executive of the Labour Relations Commission from 1991 to 2016 and as Director General of the Workplace Relations Commission until June 2016. He is also an Honorary Professor within the School of Management at the Queens University, Belfast and Chairman of the Irish Sports Council.

Kieran Mulvey 

Kieran is former General Secretary of the Association of Secondary Teachers, Ireland (ASTI) and Irish Federation of University Teachers (IFUT), as well as acting as a Consultant with the EU and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) on matters relating to public management, human resources and industrial relations.

A Fellow of the Educational Institute of Scotland, Kieran holds an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from the National University of Ireland and was recently conferred with the first Honorary Fellow of the CIPD.

The Enquiry Point provides clear, confidential, independent and impartial advice to assist the caller in resolving issues in the workplace.

While the advisors cannot provide a legal opinion they can help callers gain a better understanding of their rights and responsibilities as well as identifying possible options to help resolve their issues.
