Each April sees the increase to the National Living and Minimum Wage rates, and other statutory rates of pay

The tables below show the current rates for the above, effective from April 2023.

National Living Wage and Minimum Wage rates (per hour)

National Living Wage (23 Years and over) £10.42
21 - 22 Year Old Rate £10.18
18 - 20 Year Old Rate £7.49
16 - 17 Year Old £5.28
Apprentice Rate £5.28
Accommodation Offset £9.10 (daily) and £63.70 (weekly)

Agricultural Minimum Wage rates (per hour)

Grade 1 - Minimum Rate - Applicable for first 40 weeks cumulative employment £7.54
Grade 2 - Standard Worker £8.13
Grade 3 - Lead Worker £10.16
Grade 4 - Craft Grade £10.92
Grade 5 - Supervisory Grade £11.49
Grade 6 - Farm Management Grade £12.48

Accommodation Rate:

For all workers commencing work in agriculture for the first time from 6 April 2009, a house or other accommodation provided by an employer, including any garden provided with it, may, with the consent of the worker, be reckoned as payment of wages in lieu of payment in cash to a maximum value of £51.27 per week.

Additionally, workers will now be entitled to 3 days bereavement leave following the death of a close family member.

Statutory Sick Pay

SSP Rate £109.40 per week
Lower earnings limit £123 per week (you must have average earnings of at least £123 to qualify for SSP

Family Related Pay Rates (Statutory Maternity Pay etc)

Statutory Maternity Pay — weekly rate for first 6 weeks

90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings

Statutory Maternity Pay — weekly rate for remaining weeks

£172.48 or 90% of the employee’s average weekly
earnings, whichever is lower

Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP) — weekly rate

£172.48 or 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings, whichever is lower

Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP) — weekly rate for first 6 weeks

90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings

Statutory Adoption Pay — weekly rate for remaining weeks

Statutory Shared Parental Pay (ShPP) — weekly rate
