Mediation
Mediation is a process whereby an independent third party intervenes into a workplace conflict or dispute to assist the parties to reach a satisfactory outcome.
Workplace mediation can be utilised to resolve conflict in a variety of situations. This can range from difficult working relationships between individuals to trade disputes between employers and trade unions. Specific referrals to the Agency for mediation may also be made under agreed procedures. For example the Agency provides mediation to teachers as part of their dignity at work policy.
