Anti-Bullying Week 2011
Cyber Bullying Leaflet Launched
A cyber bullying advice leaflet for parents and carers was launched by Chair of the All Party Group on Children and Young People, Michelle McIlveen MLA, on Thursday 17 November at Victoria Park Primary School, Belfast as part of Anti-Bullying Week (14-18 November 2011), coordinated by the Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Forum and supported by Translink. The leaflet explains what cyber bullying is and the steps parents can take to help ensure their child does not experience, or display, such behaviour.
Cyber bullying is bullying that takes place through new technologies, such as mobile phones and the internet. This could include; posting hurtful, embarrassing or threatening material online; sending nasty text messages or leaving rude voicemails on a mobile phone; excluding someone from an online game or setting up fake profiles on a social network to make fun of others.
