Agency Events Programme – Summer 2010
Good Practice Seminars
The Agency has programmed 11 Good Practice Seminars to take place between 1 April 2010 and 30 June 2010 covering the following topics.
- Managing Absence from Work- Disciplinary or Capability issue?
- Taking the fear out of handling Discipline and Grievance
- Handling Redundancy
- Conducting Employment Investigations
- Bullying in the Workplace
- Unfair Dismissal - the Law and Practice
- Introduction to Employment Law
These events will be held in venues in the Belfast or Londonderry areas. If you book to attend an event you will be advised of the venue closer to the date.
LRA hosted events
Presented by Health and Safety Works NI, the government advisory service for small businesses
- Implementing Health and Safety - the Basics
- Health & Safety Policy and Risk Assessment
These hosted events will be held in the Labour Relations Agency's Head Office in Belfast or in the Regional Office in L'Derry.

Advisory Workshops
The Agency has also programmed four Advisory Workshops which are designed to
- assist employers develop and maintain effective employment practices and procedures that best meet their needs and which comply with statutory requirements.
- raise awareness of the provisions of employment legislation and to promote and develop good practice.
- update participants on a range of relevant issues which could affect the content of their employment documentation
The numbers attending workshops are kept small to facilitate greater participation and to provide the opportunity for questions. Comprehensive documentation will be given at the workshop.
These Advisory Workshops will be held in the Labour Relations Agency's Head Office in Belfast or in the Regional Office in L'Derry.
