Employment law changes in GB but not NI

This news item is to let our users know that reforms to employment law on 6th April 2009 apply only to Great Britain and not Northern Ireland. Changes in relation to the reform of dispute resolution measures and the right to request flexible working do not come into effect in Northern Ireland at the above date.

Employment is a transferred matter to the Northern Ireland Executive and changes to employment law are subject to local consultation perhaps with a view to future enactment.
